Dear University Leadership,

In the past week, Black, brown, Muslim, undocumented, international, and Palestinian students have been victims of cyber harassment, physical intimidation, and death threats. These threats to student safety include a truck broadcasting the names and faces of students in our community. This harassment has been debilitating. Students are skipping classes due to fear of hateful attacks, missing meals due to anxiety, and avoiding community spaces due to risk of targeting.
                
For marginalized and vulnerable students, Harvard feels incredibly unsafe. We are frustrated and upset that there has still been no university-wide response to name, condemn, and reject the violence that students are experiencing. Students have been left on their own to navigate legal, professional, media, and mental health resources. Any distribution of resources from the university has been inefficient and decentralized. At a university that claims to foster a culture of belonging and inclusion for all, the failure to explicitly name threats to minority students’ safety is complicity in this targeting. 
                
In light of public threats to escalate doxxing by the same outside instigators who are responsible for the truck, we call on Harvard University to do better and to fulfill two core demands:
                
1) Issue a university-wide public statement to ALL students specifically naming doxxing, and explicitly the truck, for what it is: a form of intimidation, harassment, and violence against our communities. Include in said statement a categorical condemnation of racism, Islamophobia, xenophobia, and anti-Semitism.
2) Establish a centralized task force accessible to ALL students providing support for anyone affected by doxxing and intimidation, with avenues for students to receive individualized support for personal security, immigration-related, professional, emotional, and other support.

Our communities are in danger, and with the current lack of response, it becomes increasingly clear that institutions like Harvard are not built for nor serve students that look like us. We call on your action to make us feel safe and supported.
